Pinky Williams, a cancer survivor, holds her great grandson Jorden on her lap as they take part in the Survivor's Victory Lap at Georgetown's first Relay For Life held at Christ the King School Friday. Jorden was representing Williams' great grandson Taylor who passed away at the age of 7 from Wilms tumor.

The Canadian Cancer Society held its first Relay for Life event in Georgetown Friday and more than 300 participants from 29 teams raised an estimated $45,000. (Above) Participants walk the track at Christ the King School while (below) event chair Krista Diamond (left) helps Kay D'Entremont light candles in honour of her daughter Joanne, a cancer survivor. Brothers Joseph and Alexander Ringuette, a cancer survivor, share hugs and kisses with Tucker the schnoodle at the Canadian Cancer Society's Georgetown Relay For Life held at Christ The King School Friday evening. (Below) Candles from the Luminary Ceremony, which honours cancer victims and survivors, spell out a special message.
