At their kick-off celebration of their fundraising campaign last Wednesday, Acton Agricultural Society Fundraising Committee co-chairs Norm Elliott (left) and Jim Pink were joined by Miss Acton Fair Becky Somerville, as they unveiled the target of their campaign to raise $750,000 for the construction of the new agricultural building in Prospect Park. The 21,000 square foot facility will be built with the intention of groups other than the Agricultural Society using it, with Georgetown and Acton soccer clubs taking advantage of the building for indoor soccer during the winter months. An indoor soccer pitch measuring 110 by 170 feet is part of the plans. Elliott also unveiled the logo of the fundraising committee as well. Fundraising co-chair Brent Marshall was unable to attend.
