Raeanne Dingwall of Georgetown, competed in the "All of Central Ontario" Optimist Oratorical Contest held in Kingston. Raeanne was sponsored by the Optimist Club of Georgetown and she competed against nine other contestants ages 13 to 16 years old. The theme of all the speeches focused on "My future is bright because...." and Raeanne spoke about diabetes research, insulin and the advancements in new technology to treat diabetes. Raeanne did an exceptional job, speaking with poise and maturity, and won second place overall. She is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship to any university.
