Songwriters to perform at Canada Day in the Glen

Tomorrow's stars are playing a free outdoor concert all afternoon on Canada Day at the Gazebo Main Stage. Sit on the grass and enjoy some of the best music around-- free of charge! The musicians playing are seasoned veterans of the Southern Ontario music scene offering a tremendous range of song styles and sensibilities. Keith Thompson, a singer-songwriter opens the show at approximately 1:30 p.m. He has performed with and opened for a wide range of bands and performers, showing his versatility as an entertainer. Thompson started his solo career in 1992 and has performed steadily ever since. His first CD was released in 2001. Marianne Girard has written hundreds of songs, including the Ceremonial Song for the United Nations Peace Conference in '92. By 18 she was playing guitar, and by 21 she was in Nashville, where her voyage as a writer began in earnest. She stayed for one year, then toured through North America and parts of Europe, at festivals and clubs. Other performers during the day will be Leslie Clendening, Lonnie Glass and Kent McMillan.
