Litter pickup appreciation
Christ the King teacher Ida Continenza accepted a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the school for its participation in the Town of Halton Hills' 20 Minute Makeover. Mayor Rick Bonnette and Councillor Jane Fogal, chair of the Litter Free Task Force made the presentation at a recent council meeting. Certificates were also presented to other participating schools. Twenty teachers and more than 65 students participated in the one-day event, spending more than hour cleaning up debris around the school and its neighbourhood. The school will also be sponsoring 10 new Litter Free Task Force roadside signs that state, "Thank you for not littering". To sponsor a sign that will be posted on existing poles, residents or groups should go to www.haltonhills.ca and click on the Don't be a Litterbug icon. Photo by Cynthia Gamble
