Danby Road Park is the first park opened in the newly created Georgetown South community, south of Argyll Road and west of Mountainview Road. The 4.4 acre park features walkways, intermediate soccer pitch, single basketball court, junior and senior play structures and mailbox pavilion. The project cost of $165,000 is a joint venture between Fernbrook Homes and the Town and was designed by NAK Design Group as part of the developer's obligations. On hand to cut the ribbon were (front, from left) local resident Sarah Gerry and her daughter Julia, 2, her friend Oriana Chiavaro, 6 and Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette. In back, Paul DiProfio, Mike Menonna and Silvano Tardella, all of NAK Design Group, Scott Mingay and John Roddis, both of Rutherford Contracting, Halton Hills Ward 4 Councillor Bob Inglis, Ward 3/4 Regional Councillor Jane Fogal and Rakesh Mistry, parks design and construction co-ordinator of the Town of Halton Hills.
