Dogs win `C' crown

For the first time in the organization's history, Halton Hills Minor Lacrosse put together a Midget II team this year, and the Bulldogs were hardly considered lightweights. The squad compiled a 15-6-1 heading into the recent Ontario Lacrosse Association midget C championships in Mimico. Halton Hills took all four of its round-robin games and then beat Brockville 7-1 in the semifinals, setting up a showdown with Oakville II. Trailing 5-4 in the final period, the midget 'Dogs received goals from Matt Lord and Brendan Macdonald to secure the victory. Rookie goalie Tyler `Stonewall' Stone made several key saves to preserve the win and captain Brendan Gingras was named tourney MVP in part for scoring eight goals and 12 assists.
