Wide variety of artists to be featured during Arts in Motion show at Cultural Centre

As part of the 25th anniversary of the Halton Hills Cultural Centre, artists from the community will show the public how they make their art. Arts in Motion, will feature 20 artists demonstrating their various art forms at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre (Library and John Elliott Theatre) 9 Church Street on Saturday, October 21 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Arts in Motion will feature chainsaw artists Lavern Blacklock and Gene Cipparone, who will be carving outside, Weaver Margaret Searle, stained glass artist Frank Anthony and rug hooking artist Patty van Liefland. Watercolour painters Gretchen Day and William Band, potters Frans Rood and Carolyn Filter, along with doll makers Joan Morrison and Stephanie Makaluk will also be on hand. Makaluk has her Masters degree in doll making and this is bound to be an interesting demonstration. Others who will be there to share their talents are: photography enthusiast Marcia Lowin, jewelry makers Cathy Parker and Mary Merideth, members of the Palette and Pencil Club, wood carvers Bonnie Malenfant, Brian Foubert, and Alex Lulham and artist Marina Guglielmi, who will demonstrate wax modeling techniques for creating bronze sculptures. Admission is free and some items will be available for sale at the show.
