Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette, with help from Ward 2 Councillor and Credit Valley Conservation board member Joan Robson, signs a charter protecting the Credit River watershed. To protect our water, Credit Valley Conservation Authority (CVC) and its member municipalities initiated the Credit River Water Management Strategy Update (CRWMSU) in 2003, with the goal of selecting a management strategy that ensures "abundant, safe and clean water" now and in the future, for both the people and wildlife within the Credit River watershed. As an affirmation of their commitment to this Strategy, stakeholders recommended signing a non-binding Credit River Watershed Charter. All Halton mayors and Regional Chair Joyce Savoline signed the charter in ceremonies throughout the four Halton municipalities recently.
