Tenth annual book festival for children will be held on Sunday

Several children's authors, illustrators and storytellers will be celebrating literature at the 10th annual Milton Book Festival for Children on Nov. 5. Deborah Ellis, author of the controversial Three Wishes: Palestinian and Israeli Children Speak and The Breadwinner will talk to parents, teachers and kids about her experiences as a writer. Barbara Reid, creator of books like The Subway Mouse and The Golden Goose, will discuss her unique plasticine illustrations. Children will also enjoy the humour of Richard Scrimger who wrote The Nose from Jupiter and From Charlie's Point of View. There will be several other writers, illustrators and storytellers, as well as music from The Smudge Fundaes. Face-painting, refreshments and vendors will complete the afternoon. Tickets are $5 for adults, and $2 for children and on sale at both the Georgetown and Acton branches of the Halton Hills Public Library.
