The 22nd-annual edition of the Paul Murr Memorial Golf Tournament held last May at the Blue Springs course in Acton generated a record $53,000 for the Acton branch of the Canadian Cancer Society, bringing the total amount raised in the history of the event to just short of $600,000. Accepting the cheque on behalf of the local branch of CCS are Liz Bailey (second from front left) and president Carl Leybourne (front centre). Also in the photo are tournament organizing committee members (front, from left) Fred Reinders, Bev Mattocks and Wade Vickery.
