The Science Fair at Georgetown District Christian School is a big project and this year all students in the school put together a project with students from Grades 1-4 submitting class projects and students from Grades 5-8 submitting group or individual projects. Students in Grades 7 and 8 were judged on their project and three students, Tom Corlett, Aaron Postma and Joe Burke, have been selected to move forward to the next level of competition at Redeemer University on April 12 and 13. They will be competing with students from approximately 200 other Christian schools around Ontario.

Projects were judged by independent judges as well as by Grade 12 students from Toronto District Christian school who interviewed the students in Grades 7 and 8. The projects were judged on a number of factors including their overall display, an abstract (which included the purpose, hypothesis, procedure, results, abstract and conclusion). Also judged were the student's work journal-- including their rough notes, references used, raw data collected and help received from other people-- their knowledge and understanding of their project through an interview and how the student has incorporated their Christian perspective into their science project.

Tom Corlett, Grade 8 student at Georgetown District Christian School, is interviewed by two Grade 12 science students from Toronto District Christian School.
