Due to the discovery of razor blades in the mulch material near playground equipment in Oakville recently, Mayor Rick Bonnette and Town council requested staff inspect all playgrounds in Halton Hills last week. "The public can be assured Halton Hills playgrounds are safe and do not have hazards of this nature," said Bonnette. Chris Mills, the acting director of Engineering Public Works and Building Services, said in addition to this special inspection, there is a regular system of monthly playground inspections in place. Ted Drewlo, manager of Public Works, encourages any residents who find broken glass, or other forms of vandalism in local parks, to contact Town staff at 905-873-2601 ext 2603. For further information on Halton Hills Parks and Playgrounds maintenance contact: Ted Drewlo, manager of Public Works, Town of Halton Hills at 905-873-2601 ext. 2602.
