The Oakville Players present the "hauntingly beautiful play" Mary Rose, starting Wednesday (Nov. 18). Mary Rose, by J.M. Barrie, has all the fantasy and magic of the writer's more well-known work, Peter Pan, with a "grown-up elegance and themes that older audiences will appreciate," according to a media release. The play weaves the story of Mary Rose Morland, who twice in her life disappears while visiting a remote island in the Outer Hebrides. Her disappearance cannot be explained and when she resurfaces, she has no memory of time having passed. The cast of eight includes Oakville actor Andrea Kerswill in the title role. Director and producer Mary Rose, who shares a name of the subject of the play, describes it as, "a haunting story about love, innocence and loss." "The Oakville Players chose this play because Oakville Players bring Mary Rose to OCPA Sketch comedy show airs Sundays it is full of mystery, humour and surprising twists that will likely entertain the whole family," she added.
