Zam uner, an unrestrict ed free agent w ho had spent the past two seasons with the O ttaw a Senators, signed a three-year $2.2 m illion with the Boston Bruins on July 6. A 10-year N H L veter an, the six-foot three-inch 203- pound centre/left w inger is know n more for his defensive than offen sive skills. H is signing w as the third free agent acquisition by the Boston Bruins last week. Earlier the Bruins had signed defensem an Sean O 'D onnell and right w ing M artin Lapointe. He was signed as a free agent by Tam pa Bay on July 13, 1992 and played his first seven full NHL seasons with the Lightning during the first seven years o f that franchise. He was nam ed as an assistant cap tain in T am pa Bay in 1996-97 and becam e that club's captain in 1998-99. A career highlight was playing for C anada in the 1998 Olym pics at Nagano, Japan and at the 1998 W orld H ockey Cham pionships.
