The 90-minute parade featured decorated floats, marching bands and costumed characters as well as the star of the show, Santa himself. Pictured, clockwise from top left: the parade's Grand Marshall, Mrs. Claus and this year's parade colouring contest winner Sophie Dowd; students and staff of White Oaks Secondary School with their gingerbread house float; Taelyn Kaknevicius, 6, and her younger sister Sydney, 3, try to keep warm as they wait for the parade to begin with letters to Santa in-hand; The Top Hat Marching Band was one of several marching bands in the parade; Oakville firefighters kicked off the parade handing out candy and collecting toys for their annual toy drive; canines dressed for the holidays walked the parade route with their handlers from The Dog Rescuers Inc.; friends (L-R) Sophia Marcanoleon, 8, Aysha Bhabha, 7, and Isis Martinez, 8, keep a close lookout for Santa as they took in all the sights and sounds... such as the giant inflated snowman that travelled the parade route, tethered to its handlers.
