The fundraiser includes nine unique Christmas decor prizes. Pictured, May Court volunteer Linda Somerville holds a Santa mug, while standing beside Santa's Surprise Tree, one of three decorated trees on display. On Saturday, Dec. 12, winners will be drawn and on Sunday, Dec. 13, prizes and trees will be presented to the raffle winners -- the same weekend the service club's gift wrapping station kicks into action, which continues through to Christmas Eve (Dec. 24). Volunteers are selling tickets for the trio of decorated Christmas trees and other festive Christmas décor. The May Court Club of Oakville is also the designated recipient of all monies raised from photos taken with Santa as of his arrival at the mall last Saturday. All proceeds from the raffle, photos with Santa and the wrapping station will benefit May Court designated charities. halton.ca 311 PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE Halton Rural Agricultural Strategy Background Report Halton Region is developing a Rural Agricultural Strategy. The purpose of the Strategy is to identify how the Region can, within its mandate and resources, support the long-term sustainability of the rural economy. This includes farms and farm support businesses, on-farm businesses secondary to a farming operation, non-agricultural uses in rural hamlets and clusters, and cottage industries and home occupations. The background report will inform the development of the strategy, which contains a comprehensive analysis of the agricultural and rural areas in Halton region. This analysis includes hamlets and rural clusters, identification of specific needs and challenges facing farmers and rural businesses, a review of legislation, regulation, policies and plans, an environmental scan of best practices and programs, and a SWOT analysis for agriculture and the rural settlement areas. A Public Information Centre will be held to provide an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the background report. The consultant will give a presentation outlining key information that has been gathered and will be present to address any questions and comments. The consultant will also lay out the framework for the completion of the Rural Agricultural Strategy. | photo by Graham Paine Oakville Beaver (Follow on Twitter @halton_photog or facebook.com/HaltonPhotog) Skyway Jewellers Last chanceends Dec. 5th Date: Wednesday, December 9, 2015 Time: 7:00 p.m. Location: Halton Region Museum 5181 Kelso Rd.
