www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, December 17, 2015 | 22 Make a wish at Towne Square Make a wish at Towne Square and support the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada. The Downtown Oakville Business Improvement Area (BIA) is encouraging visitors to pick up a free wishing tree ornament card from any downtown business, write a wish on the paper ornament and hang it on one of its wishing trees. For every wish that is hung on the tree, the Downtown Oakville BIA will donate $1 to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada up to a maximum of $1,500. Of the hundreds already hung, more than 150 are from Classical Martial Arts Centre students. The kids were excited to know they were playing a role in helping other kids, a press release stated. "We encourage everyone, young and old, to come downtown to pick up their ornament from the businesses and share their wish with the world," Downtown BIA officials said in the press release. "Whether it's a wish for peace, health, or maybe just a special gift from Santa, all wishes are welcome on the Downtown wishing trees." Celebrate the Lights is free, however, donations will be collected for Easter Seals, which provides programs and services to children and youths with physical disabilities to help them achieve greater independence, accessibility and integration.
