Background: The Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) site was part of the town's overall South Central Public Lands Study (SCPLS) -- which reviewed a number of key sites, owned by the town, in south central Oakville (e.g. surplus school sites, Oakville Arena) and made recommendations about their future use, including recreation uses. This open house is the first step towards the town's commitment to further assess the former hospital site and report back on site design details, public consultation, and implementation steps. Notice of study commencement and Open House (Public Information Centre #1) Deer Run Avenue laneway access Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study Thursday, November 26, 2015 6 8 p.m. Formal presentation at 7 p.m. Otello's Banquet & Convention Centre 2273 Royal Windsor Drive, Oakville, L6L 7X8 The Town of Oakville has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study to study and address the local roadway servicing needs at the east end of Deer Run Avenue. While the temporary emergency access is not a public roadway, there has been public use of the emergency access to gain access to and from Winston Churchill Boulevard. The town has recently restricted access to the temporary emergency access to prevent such public use pending a review of the local road network and transportation needs of the community through a Class Environmental Assessment. The Town of Oakville wishes to provide a safe, efficient and integrated transportation system for the movement of people and goods, and to modify the existing road network in this area as may be required to achieve this objective. Your input is important! We appreciate your feedback and we encourage you to get involved. A key component of the study will be consultation with interested stakeholders, the public, land owners and regulatory agencies. During the Public Information Centre representatives of the Town of Oakville will be available to discuss the study, answer questions and obtain input on the alternatives proposed by the town. The study will be conducted in compliance with Part A. Class EA Planning Process, as defined in the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class EA document (October 2000, as amended in 2007 and 2011), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The study will address Phases 1 and 2 of the Class EA process, and fulfill requirements for Schedule B projects. Questions, comments or accessibility needs?
