Fogarty admits such strife often occurs when commercial zoning abuts residential, but advises residents to call police and also to try to work some thing out with the businesses in the plaza regarding rules of con duct at the plaza. Neither of the Ward 6 coun cillors were even aware of the Penrose Lane problem. "I think people should always contact their councillors," said Councillor Kurt Franklin. That's because councillors can often get problems fixed. Franklin sits on the Trafalgar Community Consultation Committee, a police/community liaison committee that has suc cessfully curtailed teen partying activities in recent years. Franklin said youths were throwing beer bottles into resi dents' backyards there. Ravine bush parties were also a big problem at one time, he said. Youths even partied under the wooden playground structure at Sheridan Park until "they almost burned it down," said Franklin. "Kids can be creative and this sounds like it might be fair ly new. Usually they like seclud ed areas," said Franklin, noting it's a summer ill. He added that police are cur rently clamping down on a ravine party problem at Wedgewood Creek behind Hudson Place. According to Halton Regional Police Sgt. Val Hay, police seized a number of computer systems and related materials plus a quantity of child pom stored in a computer at an Oakville resi dence. At press time, some of the material seized under the search warrant was still being assessed to determine if further porno graphic images exist. The investigation actually began this past February after infor mation was received following a domestic incident at the sus pect's residence.
