Price The Oakville Seniors' Centre will be hosting its annual Autumn harvest Craft & Bake Sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale features many items for Christmas gift giving such as crafts, decorations, hand knitted sweaters and baby outfits, hand sewn items and a bake table laden with homemade goodies and pre serves. Also available for purchase are ceramics, jewellery and plants. After shopping and browsing, visitors are invit ed to enjoy a light lunch, which will be served in the Tea Room. Another popular feature of the event is a raffle for a handmade quilt. The Oakville Seniors' Centre is located at 263 Kerr St. Additional parking is available at the park ing lot across the street. Thistleoaks Fundraising Gala Oct 26 Thistleoaks Child Care Centre at Oaklands Regional Centre will hold its second annual Fundraising Gala on Saturday Oct. 26 to raise funds for its new playground. Last year's event raised $31,000. More than 300 tickets were sold. This year's Gala will be held at Le Dome Banquet Centre. The semi-formal evening will consist of a fivecourse meal with wine, entertainment, dancing, door prizes, raffles and a silent auction. Tickets are $75 each and available at Thistleoaks. 905-842-7303. Tax receipts for $40 will be issued for every ticket sold. Corporate sponsors and donors will be recog nized at the Gala via a PowerPoint presentation. Contributors of $1,000 or more will be commend ed with a plaque bearing their names on the per manent Wall of Recognition at Thistleoaks. As a result of changes to provincial legislation regarding outdoor play equipment, Thistleoaks has opted to replace the existing playground with new safe equipment. This project is estimated to cost $150,000. Thistleoaks has established a new Playground Committee headed by Sue Ewen, now its new executive director.
