Organized by OCCPEHR The event, organized by the Oakville Community Centre for Peace, Ecology and Human Rights (OCCPEHR) and sponsored by the Town of Oakville's Parks and Open Space Department, invites residents to help clean up the lakefront, parks, trails and other green space in the community Saturday, April 23 from 9-11 a.m. "We are looking forward to a record turnout this year," stated Stephen Dankowich, executive director of OCCPEHR, in a press release. "Our local environment truly needs your support." Last year, more than 1,000 volunteers helped remove 3,900 kilograms of garbage from 43 locations throughout Oakville. More volunteers needed OCCPEHR officials hope more people will step up so more ground can be covered this year.
