Police pursuit ends in arrest after Budds' Chevrolet break-in The QEW at Trafalgar Road was closed early yesterday morning (Thursday) in connection with a police pursuit of suspects after a break-in at Budds' Chevrolet. Halton police responded to a call from HARP Security at 1:43 a.m. after two men were spotted inside the car dealership's 410 South Service Rd. W. fenced compound. After spotting security, the suspects ran to a waiting cube van and fled. Security followed the suspect vehicle onto the eastbound QEW at Dorval Drive, as Halton officers intercepted the van and attempted to stop it, but the driver refused, according to police. A pursuit ensued and a short distance later, the suspect vehicle was stopped as it ended up in a ditch at QEW and Trafalgar. The suspects then fled but an adult male was arrested at the scene. A K9 tracking unit was brought in to search for a second suspect. There were no injuries reported and the investigation is ongoing by the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau. Criminal charges are pending. On Wednesday, Feb. 17, shortly after 5 p.m., a woman entered the business and allegedly concealed a bottle of whiskey in her large backpack-style purse, police said. The individual left the store making no attempts to pay for the item and fled from an employee who attempted to get her to return it. The suspect is described as white, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6, in her mid 20s or early 30s with a medium build. She wore a black jacket with a maroon top, blue jeans and folded over black boots. She carried a light-coloured, backpack-style purse.
