"In Halton, that's more than 21,000 kids a year that are affected by abuse," she said, noting many abused children are left untreated and are at a greater risk of physical, emotional, developmental and relationship issues throughout their life. Gala in Oakville A gala to be held in Oakville April 9 aims to give those children, who have experienced abuse, violence and neglect, the support they need to move on from their traumatic experiences. The Denim & Diamondsthemed gala will be held at Le Dome Banquet Hall, 1173 North Service Rd. W. Tickets cost $125. The night will begin with a cocktail reception from 5:30-7 p.m., followed by a four-course gourmet dinner, linedancing lessons and live and silent auctions. Performances will include Michael Sadler, lead singer of Canadian rock band Saga, and David Barrett from the David Barrett Trio (DB3). Sadler to perform Sadler, an Oakville native, began his singing career with St. Jude's Church choir at the age of eight. He spent nearly four decades with Saga, which released 21 albums, before concentrating on a solo career. More recently, he's been working with the DB3 on a few projects.
