Super success in Sudbury The Oakville Rangers peewee AA rep team won the prestigious Sudbury tournament with an exciting 2 -1 championship win over North Bay. These two evenly balanced teams put on a most entertaining exhibition of hockey that saw the fans from both centers cheering the boys as the clock ran down in the third period. Tension mounted as Oakville was shorthanded and North Bay pulled their goalie for a last desperate 6-on4 attempt to tie the game. Oakville goalie Chad March picked up his second game MVP trophy. Ali Robitaille had the championship winning goal, capping off a give-and-go with Justin Wilson-Kirby, · The line also potted the first goal, Wilson-Kirby scoring, assisted by Robitaille and Kevin Lee. Oakville had lost 4-1 in the final preliminary round game to North Bay, Spencer Taugher scoring the lone goal on an exceptional individual effort. Jason Bortolotti was game MVR Oakville won its first two preliminary round games: Oakville 4, Timmins 1: Joel Brooks had a pair of goals and the game MVP (as chosen by the tournament organizing committee).
