The mandate of this committee is to: 3 1m( (5 f 1.7 m t) ma x. · Review the methodology and assumptions used in formulating Halton's development charges policy; · Provide critical analysis and policy advice regarding Halton's development charges policy; and Acceptable Bulk Waste Material Large household items over 23 kg (50 lbs) and/or items that will not fit into a closed garbage bag or container, which includes: · Furniture (e.g., couches, chairs, tables, mattresses) · Household doors · Flooring (e.g., carpets, under padding, linoleum), bundled in maximum 1.7 m x 1 m (5 ft x 3 ft) lengths One bundle is one bulk item. · Toilets (remove top from base) · Windows and mirrors (to avoid glass shattering, place tape across in an "X" pattern); no larger than 1.7 m x 1 m (5 ft x 3 ft) · Wood (e.g., fencing, picnic tables, shelving, skids), dismantled, nails removed and bundled no larger than 1.7 m x 1 m (5 ft x 3 ft) One bundle is one bulk item. Unacceptable · Automobile parts, including vehicle seats · Barbecues · Building, construction, demolition and renovation debris · Cardboard boxes · Concrete and bricks · Electronics (e.g., televisions, computers) · Excessively large or heavy items (contact Halton Region if you are unsure) · Household hazardous waste · Metal and appliances · Mixed piles · Propane tanks · Soil and rocks · Tires · Trees (any part) · Provide input on recommendations regarding any proposed development charges by-laws. The appointment term will expire when the Development Charges Background Study is released to the public which is anticipated to be in December 2016.
