Hornets prepare for provincials after being ousted by Aeros in PWHL playoffs The Oakville Hornets couldn't overcome an earlytwo goal deficit as the Toronto Aeros won 3-2 to eliminate the Hornets from the Provincial Women's Hockey League playoffs. Toronto outshot the Hornets 14-1 in the opening period and jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Emma Maltais scored five minutes into the second to cut the lead to one, but Toronto restored its two-goal advantage three minutes later. Oakville again pulled within a goal when Amy Curlew scored with five minutes to play in the third, but Toronto held off the Hornets for the series-clinching win. Three gold-medal wins came from Michael Borca in the seven-yearold male category, Izabella Zakatsiolo in the nine-year-old female category and Helios He in the 10-year-old male category.
