At around 11 a.m., police said a vehicle, driven by the victim, was travelling northbound on Trafalgar Road when, "for unknown reasons," it crossed over the centre median and struck a southbound commercial truck. The victim's vehicle then continued into a nearby ditch where it came to a stop. The driver of the truck, a 38-year-old Brampton man, was not injured. The Oakville man was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges have been laid in connection with this incident. A medical episode has not been ruled out as the cause of the collision. The accident and subsequent investigation by the Halton Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit brought traffic in the Trafalgar Road and White Oaks Boulevard area to a standstill for several hours.
