For residents looking to get started with their own research, Oakville Public Library is an excellent place to start. Out of the Oakville Room at its Central Branch, the library provides access to a variety of records, books and microfilm that can be of great assistance in navigating one's family history. Cemetery and church records, passenger and immigration lists as well as census data are included in this local collection, available for in-library use during regular hours (with a valid library card).
