Firefighters were called to the home at around 6:30 p.m., where they discovered a small fire contained within the closed the garage. Smoke from the blaze had begun to enter the dwelling, setting off the smoke alarms. No one was home at the time of the fire, which was quickly extinguished. Firefighters had to break through the garage door to carry out their work. Deputy Fire Chief Brian Durdin estimates the fire caused around $5,000 worth of damage. This included some minor smoke damage to the house's interior. The cause of the fire is unclear at this time.
