At a media conference held in Toronto yesterday (Thursday, April 28) morning, OPP Chief Superintendent Don Bell announced details of the investigation, which included a joint-effort with other police forces in and around the GTA and agencies such as the RCMP , Canada Border Services Agency and United States Homeland Security Investigations. Province-wide investigation It was described by the OPP as a provincewide investigation by members of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. Ang Li, 25, and Darren Evans, 42, both of Oakville, face two counts each of Possession of Child Pornography and one count each of Make Available Child Pornography. Justin Raposo, 20, of Milton was charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography. The OPP held a media conference in Toronto yesterday (Thursday, April 28) where OPP Chief Superintendent Don Bell announced details of a joint-forces investigation into Internet child exploitation. Among 80 people facing charges in connection with the investigation are two Oakville men. | supplied photos Total 274 charges laid A total of 174 search warrants were executed, resulting in 274 charges against 80 people, including one youth who cannot be identified under terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Charges include sexual assault, drugs and weapons and a range of child pornography charges. In addition, 20 victims were identified during the investigations and referred to appropriate community-based resources for assistance, police said. Drug and weaponsrelated charges were also laid. Among those charged is Steven Campbell, 37, a Brampton man working at a daycare in Milton. The operators of Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) have been working with police during the investigation. Campbell has worked at MCRC since September 2013. Before that, he worked at Family First in Brampton for approximately one year. Campbell has been charged with one count of accessing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. Others charged are from a wide range of Ontario municipalities, including Mississauga, Brampton, Peterborough, Cornwall, Sudbury, Timmins, Ottawa, Barrie, North Bay, Guelph, London, Hamilton, Toronto, Chatham, Belleville, Windsor, Thunder Bay and Stratford.
