The mall, on Lakeshore Road at Bronte Road, has been sold to Crombie REIT, the company con rmed with the Oakville Beaver yesterday afternoon (May 5). Headquartered in Nova Scotia, Crombie REIT owns and operates grocery- and drug store-anchored shopping centres and freestanding stores across Canada. It is a subsidiary of Sobeys Stores. Crombie REIT CFO Glenn Hynes wouldn't disclose how much the Oakville property was sold for, but con rmed the deal closed earlier this week. He said he wasn't in a position to speak about any development plans the company may have for the property. "It's a long-term process. Oakville's Town council voted Monday to approve a proposal to lower speed limits on select town roads and introduce an expanded traf c calming program. The plan follows extensive research and public consultation on ways to curb speeding on Oakville's residential streets. "Making sure our roads are safe for both vehicles and pedestrians is always a priority," said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton.
