Rock captain to make appearance Lacrosse registrations are com ing in and this Saturday (Feb. 26) is the last chance to register and avoid a late fee at the O akville Hawks first lacrosse clinic. On hand, to open up the clinics, will be special guest Jim Veltman, captain o f the Toronto Rock Lacrosse team. The clinics, held at St. Thom as Aquinas High School (Rebecca and Dorval), begin at noon for the peanut age group, follow ed by tyke at 1 p.m., novice at 2 p.m. and finishing with peewee age and up from 3 to 4 p.m. Jim Veltman will m ake an appearance at the start o f the first session to sign autographs and give a few pointers. Clinic sessions cost $3 and players should arrive with stick, helmet, gloves and running shoes. A lim ited num ber o f sticks are available for loan or purchase to first-time players. Volunteers will be on-hand to help those w ant ing to register and the league has a special price for the peanut age group this year (bom 1994-96), only $45 -- h alf price -- for the lacrosse season!
