Police target `Big 4 Killers' Police are on the lookout for what they call the Big 4 Killers. May 17-23 is Road Safety Week in Canada and Halton police say they are using education and enforcement to drive home the message certain driving circumstances are dangerous and even potentially deadly. In support of Canada Road Safety Week, Halton police have had a heightened level of presence on roadways, looking for the Big 4 Killers -- motorists impaired by alcohol or drugs; lack of seatbelt use; and all aspects related to aggressive and distracted driving. Drivers charged may be subject to licence suspensions, vehicle seizures and/or fines. So far, in 2016, eight motorists or passengers have died on Halton roadways with seven other people sustaining life-altering injuries. Police across Canada are collaborating on the road safety initiative. If you observe a vehicle being operated in a manner that places you or anyone else in danger, police say to call 911.
