The Oakville Angels under-10 girls' softball team split a pair of games in recent Peel Halton Girls Softball Association play. After suffering a tough 3-2 loss to the Kitchener Klassics, the Angels rebounded to defeat the Waterloo Ghosts 8-6. In the Kitchener game, the Klassics broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the fifth inning with a two-out, two-run single. Oakville loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth (and last) inning but could manage only one run to take the loss. Ashley Maoriat and Ava Helbrecht scored the Angels runs, both driven in by Zoe Kolkman. Oakville bounced back against Waterloo, scoring four runs in the second inning and never looking back. Nikki Cataford stroked her first hit of the season in the big inning while Sloane Fortin knocked in the winning run in the fifth inning. Almost every Angels player scored a run in the victory.
