Meanwhile, the Bronte Business Improvement Area (BIA) held its Canada Day festivities at Bronte's Heritage Waterfront Park, featuring Dreamer, The Supertramp Experience with Rich Hamelin on lead vocals; and No Sugar Tonight (The Guess Who, BTO and Burton Cummings tribute band) with guitarist Russell Pye. | photos at far left and top by Catarina Muia special to the Beaver; photos at left and top right by Robert Reyes Ong special to the Beaver General $8.50 | Children & Seniors $6.50 | All seats Tues $5.00 Tess Buckley performs for a packed house at Jonathans Oakville singer, songwriter Tess Buckley recently performed at Jonathans for an evening concert. The 16 year-old is a supporter and an ambassador for About Face, an organization that advocates on behalf of those touched by facial differences. At the concert, Buckley performed a mix of jazz classics and old standards for a packed house. The local teen has said she wants to inspire others through her singing. She has performed for Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell and musical stage performer Robert Pilon, of Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera fame. Born and raised in Oakville, Buckley became proficient at her craft by the age of 12. She performs as often as she can and has entertained dignitaries and has recently been approached to do some recording with Canadian musical icon Lawrence Gowan, according to a media release. Buckley also competes on the national stage in snowboarding and placed ninth in Copper Colorado's USASA Nationals for alpine snowboard racing. "Growing up with a facial difference -- a `special smile' as she likes to call it -- Tess speaks about being positive, accepting, and loving who you are," stated the release.
