- Full Text
CUMMING, William "Bill" Born November 16, 1924 in Paisley, Scotland, passed away at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on June 11, 2016. Loved father of Bill (Marion), grandfather of Andrew (Caroline) and great-grandfather of Isabella and River. Beloved brother of Annie Figsby and the late Catherine Greig and Agnes Gallagher. Bill spent his early years in Montreal before moving to Oakville in 1955. He was a proud WW2 Canadian Navy Veteran who sailed on the HMCS Lanark, a trans-Atlantic convoy escort frigate. He retired from Canadian General Electric in Oakville after 40 years as a toolmaker and enjoyed his retirement years. Bill was a generous, caring man who willingly helped others. He enjoyed boating, the company of family and friends and a "cold one". We thank the compassionate staff at West Oak Village and OTMH for their excellent care. Memorial donations to the Oakville Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place. "Homeward Bound", Bill.
