- On 22 May 2015, students of St. Dominic Catholic Elementary school, along with several staff members and trustees, came together to honour veterans and fallen soldiers at the Bronte Veterans Garden. Throughout 2015, Grade 7 history students held interviews with members of the Canadian Armed Forces, which culminated in the oral history book entitled "We Remember". This work received the 2015 Lieutenant Governor's Ontario Heritage Award.
