John Bkila Editor jbkila@oakvillebeaver.com Art on the Bluffs at Sovereign House features painters showcasing individual and collaborative pieces Painters Kelly Dinsmore and Paul Dias will be showcasing their individual and collaborative works at Sovereign House for Art on the Bluffs 2016. The exhibit 2 Painters, 3 Artists opens Saturday (July 16) at 7 West River St. and continues on July 17, 20, 23, 24 and 27 from 1-4 p.m. each day. The pair describe the show as a partnership of two artists who paint together -- sometimes on individual works, sometimes on the same canvas -- to showcase a special blend of abstract and impressionism. "It takes patience and respect, and sometimes compromise to paint in this way, and the resulting work is a labour of love," said Dinsmore and Dias. Dinsmore, who lives in Burlington with husband Dias, is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Oakville. She works in many different mediums -- acrylics, watercolours, pen and ink -- and paints everyday life, as well as beaches and rockscapes. Dias, who was born in Jamaica, is also a self-taught artist. He has some Graphic Arts training and works primarily in acrylics. He uses a palette knife, brush or whatever is at hand to express himself.
