Practice the 3Rs in Halton this fall Halton Region is committed to protecting and enhancing our natural environment. To help divert waste and encourage residents to practice the 3Rs--Reduce, Reuse and Recycle--Halton is once again offering our fall Compost Giveaway and two Special Waste Drop-off Days. Our Compost Giveaway provides free high-quality compost to residents. To participate, visit the Halton Waste Management Site on Saturday, September 17, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with your own bags or containers (maximum seven per household) and a shovel. Please also bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to support Halton-area food banks. Safely getting to school Teaching your children to walk and bike to school safely can be an important first step towards independence.
