Brad Gushue is the defending men's champion while Rachel Homan won the women's side in 2015. Defending Ontario men's champion Glenn Howard will lead a foursome that includes two other former world champions in son Scott Howard and Richard Hart, along with David Mathers, who is replacing Adam Spencer this season. The under-10 girls rep team dropped a 5-4 decision to the Brampton Blazers in a game that decided the provincial gold-medal B champion. After initial pool play on Aug. 19, the Angels defeated Port Perry 15-3, Brampton, 6-2 and Windsor, 5-1. After waiting more than eight hours, the Angels finally played Brampton, which had worked its way back through the doubleknockout format. Oakville's Sam Levac was voted the MVP of the final game. Levac and teammates Zoe Kolkman and Taylor Galloway handled the pitching duties admirably. All members of the team, which also included Sloane Fortin, Emily McKee, Nikki Cataford, Robyn Wood, Ava Heilbrecht, Emma Leighland, Emma Purnell, Meri Black, Kloe Walker and Ashley Maoriat, had multiple hits at provincials. The Angels' defence also contributed to the fine showing. They held opposition teams in check by committing only four errors over the seven tournament games.
