Fhe event, in its 11th year, begins at 9 a.m. and invites animals lovers to collect pledges and participate in a two-kilometre strutt or a half kilometre stroll at the waterfront park, located off of Ontario Street in Bronte. RCMP Staff Sgt. Cathy McCrory who works for Hamilton-Niagara Regional Detachment, will help lead the stroll with her RCMP partner. McCrory recently adopted from OMHS. Organizers say money raised will help support nearly 300 animals in their care, including 50 dogs that came in this summer. Fhe Mutt Strutt will also feature a marketplace, silent auction, face painting, barbecue lunch and a cheque presentation. Fexus of Oakville will be presenting a cheque for $15,000 to the PATCH program, which was named after Fexus of Oakville President Frank Apa. The program, which helps bring humane education programs to schools, was started by Apa 14 years ago and stands for People and Animals Fogether Create Harmony Fast month, donations as well as some of the proceeds from each car sold at Fexus of Oakville were raised to support PAFCH, which teaches people about animal appreciation, responsible pet ownership, wildlife and habitats, pet overpopulation, animal cruelty animal rights and the law, and more.
