To celebrate eight years of serving the town, Wimpy' s on Lakeshore wants to thank its customers by giving away free small fries with any pur chase made on Friday, Feb. one of our 100 per cent beef Charbroiled hamburgers, Chili-cheese dogs from Lestar Foods or our delicious all white meat grilled chicken breast sandwich." Wimpy's suppliers, Gordon Food Service, are ready to meet the Fryday demand, too. "We've added another truckload in anticipation for the demand," said Ian Brenen, Wimpy's Diner account executive. Wimpy's anniversary cele brations will continue on Saturday, with prizes, includ ing CD's, shirts, hats and other memorabilia being drawn and awarded through out the afternoon. "It's a whole weekend of fun things," said Radonjic. "We're celebrating because this is homemade cooking. Canadians love their diners because they know it' s old I fashioned, family owned cooking, and there's not too many around here. Oakville is kind of like an old fash ioned town and we want to preserve that." Wimpy's Diner Restaurant is located at 150 Lakeshore Rd. W . Past andpresent 10. "It' s our eighth anniver sary so We're celebrating being happy in the business and serving Oakville for eight years," said Wimpy's President, Marina Radonjic. "We want people to have some fun and get the com munity together." Wimpy' s fries aren't just any fries, either. "We' ve been told by cus tomers and competitors alike that we have the best French fries in town," Radonjic said, adding that they won an award last year for Oakville's best fries. "We are thrilled at the prospect of being able to add a small fry to any order all day, even if the customer just wants one of our CocaCola beverage offerings." No coupon is necessary for Fryday. Wilson Public School were on board for the school's first anniversary celebration on Wednesday. A tim e capsule that includes cards, stories and other w ork each class made last year, a but ton, t-shirt and whistle w ith the school logo, pictures and a banner signed by every student and teacher that attended the school last year was locked up to celebrate the year anniversary.
