Their concert will be held at St. John's United Church 262 Randall Street on February 11, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. The program will feature "The Best of the Orpheus", a program of their most popular songs including King of Swing, How Great Thou Art, Battle Hymn of the Republic, Bridge Over Troubled Water; They Call The Wind Maria and many more. The Canadian Orpheus Male Choir was founded in 1977. It reflects the multi-cultural nature of our country, with a membership of men from many national backgrounds. Their repertoire is varied including opera choruses, spirituals, popular music, songs from musicals, ballads and folk songs. The choir has performed over 475 concerts in venues all over the world. A registered charity, the choir has helped raise over half a million dollars to support charities including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Child Find and Shelters for Abused Women. In October 2006 the choir will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall in London England as part of the 1000 Voice Male Voice Choir Festival. Accompanying the choir for this concert will be Sarah Valentim.
