The Great Skate is a Canada-wide skating celebration to help raise aware ness for Canadian Tire JumpStart; a charitable program created by the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families to help kids in financial need participate in organized sports and recreation. Canadian Tire is hosting skating events across Canada for The Great Skate, including a party at Toronto's Nathan Phillips Square. They are encouraging all Canadians to leave their television sets and computers and get out and organize their own skating event to support kids in need.
