Oakville's Culture Days celebrations expands to multiple locations Oakville is expanding its celebration of Culture Days this year to include more locations around town showcasing free music, dance, theatre and art activities. Registration for the second annual Oakville Vocal Arts Festival closes tomorrow Tomorrow (Friday) is the deadline to sign up for the Oakville Vocal Arts Festival. In its second year, the local festival aims to help develop young musical talent in Oakville. "The Oakville Vocal Arts Festival is dedicated to educate, encourage and inspire young vocal arts performers without the added stress of competition," said organizers. "Our first festival, last year, was a major success and we sent competitors to the Ontario Provincial Finals." Organizers recently announced the Goodale Miller Team as the festival's corporate sponsor. "... The festival runs from Nov. 14-27, with a final concert scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at Glen Abbey United Church. Each session will end with workshops for the students to work with the adjudicator. It will also feature classes in music theatre, classical voice, folk songs, sacred solos, Canadian composer and family ensembles, and singer/ songwriter classes designed for budding young composers.
