Two charged in alleged paintball assault on youths by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff 3 | Thursday, September 29, 2016 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Two people face charges after several youths were allegedly attacked with a paintball gun Sunday evening (Sept. 18). At 7 p.m., four 13-year-old boys were cycling in the area of West Oak Trials Boulevard and Upper Middle Road when a vehicle approached them. It's alleged as the vehicle passed by, someone inside it fired paintballs at the boys, striking two of them. The vehicle moved off, but returned a short time later and someone inside again shot paintballs at the same group of boys. Police said someone at the scene recognized the vehicle and its passengers and called police. Officers visited an Oakville address a short time later and made two arrests. A 20-year-old and 17-year-old (both of Oakville) have each been charged with assault with a weapon. Police said the two individuals are brothers, therefore, neither can be named as a result of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Two paintball guns were seized at the residence.
