It marks Great Britain's victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, and honours Lord Horatio Nelson, the Duke of Bronte, who died aboard the HMS Victory while leading the British fleet. Local communities, such as Bronte, Trafalgar, Nelson, Burnhamthorpe and Collingwood were named in honour of the event and the people involved. Participants will get the chance to partake in a slice of Victory Rum Cake and a mug of hot apple cider while enjoying the art of Don Morrison and friends. Presentations on the artist's canoe trips throughout the Canadian wilderness will be held at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and children's art activities will be available throughout the afternoon. The art show is the last of the Bronte Historical Society's Art on the Bluffs for the 2016 season. A presentation by Dr. Grahame Owen on Lord Nelson is set for 2:30 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
