M y head isn't always up in the clouds as some might suggest of millennials. Sure, I occasionally indulge in a daydream of what I might want to eat for my next meal or I get a little too excited about what's in store for the weekend as it nears. I may `treat myself' with some online retail therapy when I should probably be tidying up the house while my son is in bed. And yes, I put things off. A lot. There's nothing wrong with keeping my future self a little busy. As a friend puts it and I've adopted it, "That's future Julia's problem." But, with all that said, that's only a tiny fraction of who I am. In fact, this Millennial is extremely grounded. A 30-something who has set goals and aspirations throughout her life and has pretty much achieved them. A granddaughter, daughter and sister, who doesn't take her duties to take care of aging family members lightly. A wife and a mom who is overwhelmed by how much love she has for her family. A person who continues to dream and believe. And what's wrong with a little optimism anyway? No one likes a Debbie Downer. Lately, I've been noticing Millennials getting a bad rep as the generation that has had everything handed to them.
