Blades manage only one goal in two OJHL losses The Oakville Blades were held to a single goal in a pair of weekend games. The Blades were shut out 4-0 at home by the Toronto Jr. Canadiens last Friday and then fell 3-1 in North York two days later. The shutout was the first time Oakville had been blanked in an Ontario Junior Hockey League regular-season game since Jan. 19, 2015, snapping a streak of 78 games without being shut out. Sunday, Jack Jeffers scored midway through the first period to open the scoring but North York responded with a pair of goals in the second and added an empty-netter in the third. Netminder Brendan McGlynn made 36 saves for Oakville in a losing cause. Blacker won his NCAA debut Friday by turning aside 31 shots in the Broncos' 5-3 win over Ferris State, which scored one of its goals on a five-on-three advantage. Blacker also picked up an assist on Western Michigan's third goal. The following night, Blacker made 17 saves in a 2-1 victory over Ferris State, which entered the weekend ranked No. 20 in the NCAA.
